Data deletion

You can delete your Painter Assembly account at any time. Here’s how, and what happens to your information afterward.

This is the fastest way and it takes effect immediately.

1. Sign in to Painter Assembly
2. Go to Settings from your dashboard
3. Scroll to Delete your account at the bottom
4. Click Delete my account
5. Confirm, then type DELETE when asked

• Your account is closed immediately and you’re signed out
• You won’t be able to sign back in
• Any remaining account credits are forfeited
• Active leads in your queue are no longer accessible to you, and are reassigned
• Your public profile is removed
• Your information is retained for 90 days to cover payment disputes and chargebacks, then permanently deleted

The 90 day hold exists because card networks allow chargebacks to be filed after a transaction completes. Without a record we can’t respond to one, which would cost both you and us. Nothing in that window is used for anything else.

Email hello@painterassembly.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it.

We’ll confirm the request before we act on it, and complete it within 30 days. If you can’t email from the address on the account, tell us what you can about it and we’ll work out how to verify it’s yours.

Deleting your Painter Assembly account removes everything we hold, including the name, email address, and profile photo that Facebook or Google shared with us when you signed up. There’s no separate step for that.

You may also want to disconnect Painter Assembly from the account you signed in with:

• Facebook: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → find Painter Assembly → Remove
• Google: myaccount.google.com → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services → find Painter Assembly → Remove access

Doing that stops future sign-ins but does not by itself delete your Painter Assembly account. Use one of the methods above for that.

A few things have to stay, and they aren’t linked to your profile after deletion:

• Records we’re legally required to keep, including financial and tax records for completed transactions
• Anonymised or aggregated data that can’t identify you
• Messages you sent to another user remain visible to that user, in the same way an email you sent stays in the recipient’s inbox

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including access to your information and correction of it.
